Expanded Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)

Virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) uses a technology that hosts the computer desktop operating system on a centralized server. This results in a reliable and robust user experience that also improves manageability. The IT Division continues to expand Lehman’s virtual desktop capabilities with more than 600 virtual desktops in use across campus at the IT Center, the Library, campus labs and offices. Based on a positive student and faculty experience, we expect to expand the use of VDI over the next year.
