IT Security – Protect Against Ransomware

email-phishingWe encourage the Lehman community to remain vigilant regarding the receipt of potentially malicious email. We are facing a new threat called Ransomware. Ransomware is a form of malware where an attacker encrypts or scrambles the victim’s data and demands payment for the decryption key. Ransomware spreads through e-mail attachments, infected programs and compromised websites.

If you are unsure of the authenticity of a link or an attachment, don’t click on it. Do not share any personal information, including passwords, with individuals or websites. If you have shared your password by accident, change it immediately by using the Lehman Password Manager, (go to ‘Login’ at the top of the Lehman home page). Lehman will never send a link asking you change your password or submit personal information.
