After a full year of teaching 4th grade, School of Education Alumna Krystal Mejia returned to Lehman College to pick up her 2013 undergraduate diploma and finally saw a poster of her edTPA video work decorating the walls of Carman Hall! Admitttedly picking up her diploma a little later than planned, Krystal recalled her first year of teaching as both rewarding and challenging. She spoke highly about the Common Core curriculum resources available on the EngageNY website and reflected on the “assessment” section of her edTPA requirements and how they impacted her teaching and student learning. Kudos to Krystal!

As teachers across NYC begin to get ready for incoming students in September, the School of Education wishes Krystal and all our alumni a successful academic year — one filled with learning, growth and mastery.
