This Fall, Lehman College welcomes two new deans after extensive local and national searches: Dr. William W. Latimer has been named founding dean of the new School of Health Sciences, Human Services, and Nursing and Dr. Gautam Sen is now the new dean of the School of Natural and Social Sciences.

Lehman College congratulates four recent scholarship recipients – three from the Bronx CUNY Scholarship Fund and one from the New York Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. All have plans to work for the well-being of Bronx residents and advocate for a healthier global village. Francisco Cruz and Sharonda Oppong-Addae are Bronx CUNY Scholars and Genill Reynoso is an Elias Karmon Scholar; Imani Dubois received the New York Hispanic Chamber of Commerce award.

Remembering Kisook Ahn: Memorial Service and Scholarship Fund Honor Lehman Alumna and Metro North Victim

“Stunned and Saddened”: Remembering Kisook Ahn, Lehman Alumna and Metro North Victim

Lehman College is saddened to announce the death of alumna Kisook Ahn (BS ’09, MS ’12) in the December 1 crash of a Metro North train in the Bronx. She was one of four people killed when the train jumped the tracks near the Spuyten Duyvil station, just southwest of the Lehman College campus. Ms. Ahn, 35, was a native of South Korea, arriving in the United States in 2008 as part of Lehman’s exchange program with Sungshin Women’s University. She completed an accelerated bachelor’s degree in nursing in 2009 and a master’s degree in the family nurse practitioner program in 2012.
