Lehman Center for the Performing Arts has attracted big name performers like Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight and Smokey Robinson.
Executive Director Eva Bornstein says from the stars on stage to the first time visitors, the reaction is always the same.
“The reaction is spellbinding,” Bornstein said. “They cannot believe the Bronx has such a magnificent facility, and really, we pride ourselves on being a Lincoln Center in the Bronx.”
This new season kicks off September 28, with Latin jazz great Eddie Palmieri performing a major new work. Tango Fire will also take the stage.
