Just like the front door of your home, Lehman College’s website is the College’s face to the world. It provides important information about the institution—for prospective and current students, faculty, staff and the community—and reflects the College’s dynamic identity.

Lehman College introduced its new and streamlined look for the home page on Monday, August 19.

New home page

Lehman College's new home page, to debut August 15, 2013.

After several months of development, the new home page features:

·  A more visually engaging, less cluttered design that is easier to navigate with new drop-down menus.
·  A “responsive design,” where pages are automatically optimized to fit the screens of mobile devices. This reflects the growing trend where more visitors are reaching our site using smart phones and tablets.
·  Leveraging the “ecosystem” of tools behind the website to ensure flexibility and re-use.  These tools include the Active Data Calendar, WordPress newsletters, and our new video portal Lehman Digital Connect, and many others.
·  Retaining key elements of the current home page to ensure continuity. This includes the use of the visual content area at the top of the page, news stories, videos and quick links.

The home page and the entire Lehman College website is a work in progress, and will continually evolve. An update and redesign of secondary and departmental pages is forthcoming.

The new home page was designed under the leadership of Web Services Manager David Stevens, with help from Rasun Williams, Felipe Monegro, and Gerlando Termini. Students, faculty, and staff from across the campus offered valuable input, individually and as part of focus groups.
