The Jazz Band at Lehman will present works by Gordon Goodwin, Pat Metheny, Thad Jones, Harry Warren, Ernie Wilkins, and more at its spring concert on Sunday, April 28, at 2 p.m. in the Music Building’s Hearth Room. This event is free and open to the community.
The program will include such classics as Sammy Nestico’s “88 Basie Street” and Gerry Mulligan’s “Walkin’ Shoes,” as well as contemporary works like “High Maintenance” by Goodwin and “Have You Heard” by Metheny. Rounding out the program will be a special mini-performance by Lehman’s “Little Big Bang,” performing three works for jazz octet.
Directed by Professor Allan Molnar, the band includes students, alumni, and members of the community.
