The Urban Male Leadership Program will host its 5th Annual CUNitY Educational Summit on Wednesday, March 20, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Lovinger Theatre. Titled “Academic Excellence…Past, Present, and Your Future,” the summit will offer a series of workshops focusing on education today. This event is free and open to the community.
District 10 Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez will deliver the keynote address. Rodriguez represents the Washington Heights, Inwood, and Marble Hill area. He is the chair of the Committee on Higher Education and sits on the following committees: Transportation, Youth Services, Fire and Criminal Justice Services, Immigration, and General Welfare.
The Summit’s afternoon workshops will offer lessons on financial literacy and understanding the ACT, SAT, GRE, LSAT, and MCAT. There will be discussions on the hip hop generation versus higher education and how to build a community of unity.
