The fall semester has only just begun, but it’s not too soon to start thinking about what you’ll be doing during the upcoming winter break. Lehman will offer two new study-abroad opportunities this winter: one in Chile and the other in London.
Students will travel to Chile with faculty from the Political Science and Philosophy Departments. The three-credit course will take place over three weeks and focus on human rights issues, Chile’s transition to a democracy, the continuing struggles of its indigenous people, and the theoretical and practical components of transitional justice.
If it’s London’s theater scene you seek, sign up for ENG 460. Led by Professor and co-director of the City and Humanities Program Joseph McElligott, students will explore the history and practices of the London theatre. The course includes attendance at theatrical performances in the evenings, visits to the London Theater Museum and the backstage world of the Opera House in Covent Garden, and a tour of the reconstructed Globe Theater. Students will also visit the birthplace of William Shakespeare.
Both programs are open to students in the Study/Travel Opportunities for CUNY Students (STOCS) program.
The deadline to apply is September 20. Visit the Study Abroad site at www.lehman.edu/academics/study-abroad/index.php for more information about costs and fees.
