Dr. Anny Morrobel-Sosa
The Lehman College community will celebrate the official start of the academic year with its annual Convocation ceremony on Wednesday, September 19, at 11 a.m. in the Lovinger Theatre. Dr. Anny Morrobel-Sosa, Lehman’s provost and senior vice president for academic affairs, will preside, and President Ricardo R. Fernández will give welcoming remarks and provide some highlights of the year ahead.
Also during the event, three staff members — John Lucente of the Registrar’s Office, David Stevens of the Information Technology Division, and Thomas Waski of Buildings and Grounds — will receive awards for their outstanding service to the College. Addressing the audience will be Teacher of the Year Dr. Mardi Valgemae of the English Department and Adjunct Teacher of the Year Dr. Judith Duncker of the Political Science Department.
Provost Morrobel-Sosa will deliver the keynote address.
A reception will be held in the Faculty Dining Room immediately following the ceremony. To attend the reception, RSVP to the Provost’s Office (718-960-8606) by Monday, September 10.
