The High School of American Studies at Lehman College was ranked fourth out of fifty in the New York Post’s report on “Best High Schools in New York City,” published on September 9.
This is not the first time the school, which specializes in American history, has made the list of top performing schools—earlier this year it came in at #42 in U.S. News and World Report’s annual ranking of Best High Schools in the nation. In previous years, it has also ranked in the top fifty nationwide and in the top ten statewide. In 2006, the school was ranked Most Outstanding High School in New York City by the Blackboard Awards.
The school offers a rigorous academic experience in a small school setting, which lends itself to a more customized and supportive learning environment for students and teachers.
