Anthropology Professor Talks About Black Humor in Syrian Media

Associate Professor Christa Salamandra (Anthropology) recently gave an interview to Dutch National TV-NOS News about satire in Syrian media. Titled “Black Humor as a Weapon Against Assad,” the segment aired on April 19. In the interview, she describes how dissident culture producers in Syria are using humor to protest the al-Assad government. Professor Salamandra is currently a visiting professor at Lund University in Sweden.
